MK19 Machine Gun: Spring Measurement No Longer Needed

BLUF:  The MK19 shuttle spring and sear spring no longer need to be measured.

TM 9-1010-230-23&P (Aug 12) tells you to measure the shuttle spring using a caliper and gives critical dimensions. The spring measurement table is no longer used because too many springs were being replaced due to length even though they were fully functional. That’s why this table has been removed from the TM and is no longer available.

Also, the sear spring measurement will be removed from TM 9-1010-230-23&P (Aug 12). Continue to inspect the condition of the MK19 springs using the TM’s guidance, but no measurements are required.

The upcoming TM revision will remove all remaining spring measurement length references.
