AGSE: How to Get a Windshield Wiper Arm for SATS
BLUF:
Standard Aircraft Towing System TM lists duplicate NSN for the wiper blade and no NSN for the wiper arm
Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Roberts
Mechanics, there’s a challenge ordering the standard aircraft towing system (SATS) windshield wiper arm you should know about. If you order it using NSN 2090-01-617-6352, PN 302-1180, as shown in Item 1 of Fig 109 of TM 1-1740-221-13&P (Feb 15), you’ll get a windshield wiper blade, instead. That’s because the NSN and part number are for the blade and they’re incorrectly duplicated in the TM.
Make a note that the AGSE product office is in the process of identifying a part number and NSN for the wiper arm so it can be provisioned. They’ve also submitted a DA Form 2028 to correct the duplicate NSN in the TM.
In the meantime, you can order the windshield wiper arm from the vendor. You can view a copy of the milSuite post and vendor quote
HERE
. Keep in mind that vendor price and lead time may change based on the date it is ordered and the shipping location.
