PS Magazine’s
I Own This campaign is designed to recognize Warfighters of all services who exemplify the highest standards of care for their assigned vehicles and equipment and contribute in meaningful ways to their unit's overall maintenance and supply posture. In short, they live and breathe readiness.
This month, we had two Warfighters nominated for this program. Both are deserving of this recognition. One was selected at random to get the spotlight placed on them. For November 2020, that individual is LCpl Josezequie
Lira, our first Marine nominee.
Spotlight Profile

LCpl Josezequie Lira
USMC/Active
Weapons & Field Training Battalion, MCRD San Diego
Edson Range, Camp Pendleton, CA
Nominated by: GySgt Daniel Gasca Jr.
How did you come to know/observe the nominee's actions? I met him as the staff non-commissioned officer in charge of LCpl Lira. He takes initiative and takes advantage of any opportunity to demonstrate his work ethic.
Why does this individual deserve recognition? Assigned as the Modifications NCO, LCpl Lira takes guidance well and uses it to accomplish the mission. He was tasked to identify Rifle Combat Optics (RCOs) that did not have the required modification applied. With over 4,000 RCOs assigned to the battalion, he physically inspected all of them during the quarterly CMR reconciliation in a methodical way in order to ensure the modification was applied and reflected in Global Combat Support System-Marine Corps (GCSS-MC).
Any additional comments? He is extremely intelligent and willingly goes above and beyond in performing his duty.
