FMTV: Dump Truck Tailgate Regulating Valve


Dear Half-Mast,

I need to order a tailgate regulating valve for an M1157A1P2 FMTV 10-ton dump truck. Can you help me out with a good NSN?

Dear J.R.,

Sure can! We always recommend eyeballing your vehicle’s TM first, but it’s not in TM 9-2320-333-23&P (Jun 19). So order the tailgate regulating valve with NSN 4820-01-132-0583, and make a note until the TM is updated.

To prevent air leaks, use pipe sealant, NSN 8030-01-255-4144, on the threads before installing the regulating valve.
