Apache: Remove Faulty T700 Engine EDECUs
BLUF:
Inspect and remove bad T700 engine EDECUs (PNs 4155T12P07 and 4155T12P08) like it says in H-64-23-ASAM-04.

Sgt. Sarah Sangster
Mechanics, make a note that in aviation safety action message H-64-23-ASAM-04, you’re required to do a one-time inspection of the Apache T700 engines for bad enhanced digital electronic control units (EDECUs). Faulty EDECUs may result in misleading and erroneous indications to the crew that delay critical emergency actions.
If your helicopter has EDECUs with PN 4155T12P07, NSN 2995-01-572-1860 or PN 4155T12P08, NSN 2995-01-641-8045 installed, they need to be removed and turned in like it says in aviation safety action message H-64-23-ASAM-04.
Make a note that after 28 FEB 24, the only authorized AH-64 EDECU and common hydromechanical unit (CHMU) configuration will be 4155T12P09 EDECUs and 046T52G42 (6068T97P17) CHMUs.
Follow
all
the instructions in H-64-23-ASAM-04 for compliance. By 5 SEP 23, units should have made an initial TAMMS-A entry upon receipt of the ASAM that says, "Comply with H-64-23-ASAM-04, Removal of P/Ns 4155T12P07 and 4155T12P08 EDECUs.”
If aircraft were in transit during this period, units have up to 14 days after arrival at their destination to make the initial entry.
