Stryker: Replace Seals, Not Whole Wheel Assembly

Dear Editor,

We’ve had trouble with the inner hub seals going out on the Stryker’s wheel assemblies. We thought the only fix was to replace the whole wheel assembly at a cost of $40,000 a pop. But then we discovered that just the seals, NSN 2530-21-906-4057, for the #1 and #2 axles can be replaced for only $203.

The procedure is in TM 9-2355-311-13&P under FRONT AXLE DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY AND OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT.

Please let other Stryker repairmen know. This will save units big bucks.
